Zorba the greek

Created by Mikīs Theodōrakīs, who reworked the score he composed for the film Zorba the Greek, 1964 (based on the book of the same name by Nikos Kazantzakis) and choreographed by Lorca Massine, the ballet debuted in the Arena in August 1988 starring Vladimir Vasiliev and Gheorghe Iancu.

Since that absolute world premiere, Zorba the Greek has toured stages around the world.
